CBGBs!!!!

This is what I look like singing at CBGBs! Slowly stripping off my gloves in the beginning of my "My Heart Belongs to Daddy" number. Albert Garzon of Ixion Burlesque accompanied me on piano!
Note: the two pictures from this post are stolen with the utmost respect from Viva's candid shots of the evening. You can see more of the event at her journal post here!
Wow. What a night! It was an absolute dream come true to perform there. It was one of those things on my personal "things to do before I die" list that I can now say that I've done. And the crowd? UNBELIEVABLE. I ended up staying to the wee hours hanging out with everyone afterwards...so many of you showed up and thank you!
I got to meet so many of you for the first time that I've been talking with on email...Elizabeth, Jinx, and Melissa of the mesmerizing red dress (with her honey)! I was so happy to be around so many amazingly creative kick ass people all in one place...!
The photography and artwork all together was mindblowingly beautiful with artwork from the dangerous Miss A.V. Phibes, Molly Crabapple (who also performed burlesque!), and Tyson McAdoo (wow!) and photography by Frank De Blase and Miss Viva Van Story, who had her picture of me with a gun in the leopard hotrod right under the CBGBs sign in front!
The sexy hotrods were provided by the NYC Rumblers (Cha Cha is was so good seeing you again ♥ !) and I also got a chance to meet va-va-voom pin-ups Christine, Cheryl, Jinx (with her sweet beau), and I got to hug my hot as hell friend, pin-up Dolly, once again. I got to catch Little Brooklyn, who did a hot hubcap burlesque dance that made me adore and worship her even more than I already do. Streetsy Desire from Big City Burlesque in Atlanta stopped by with her honey, Sid and made me drool over the her vintage burlesque finds in NYC (which is fine, because they become mine when they move in with me soon - heehee). The World Famous Bob glided in, kissed me and called me "Pony" which makes me completely melt every time. I then eskimo-kissed fabulous Miss Jen Dziura. Gorilla Bob even crashed the party in full costume. And I got to have a damn good time with some of the usual suspects...my partners in crime, Zina, Vogel and the dapper Burke Heffner. *Whew!*
What an unbelievable evening. Nights like this are the very reason I moved to this city. New York City is a perfect place for a dame like me!
This is me at the very end of my act. I actually remember this exact moment (surprisingly) because I had just sang the last note and dropped my feather boa. This is me in ticked pink burlesque happiness reveling in the utter fabulousness of this glittery city.
My heart is drawn all over your concrete.

Miss Sacha Danger

Introducing a purrrrrrfect Danger Dame for one of my favorite weeks, Halloween!...the lovely Miss Sacha Danger!
Sacha is an international spy and one of the original Danger Dames. She makes some of the best mix cds in the world and she's sexy as hell. She likes to torture me for fun by sending the most amazing clothing ads ripped from the pages of vintage 1940s and 50s magazines. We enjoy drooling over those in equal amounts.
When I met her, she was working in one of the best vintage shops in Chicago, dressing her vixen best every day. She just made LA waaaay better by moving there. She is a vamp and I love her. She is rocking the Clockwork Cabaret Punk Rock Jacket like only she can. You better get your mitts on this jacket and FAST...it's a Danger exclusive and when this run is gone -they are gone.
Sacha, my darling spy, I adore you. Your mission is to get to New York City as soon as possible to slink across the city's rooftops with me, and revel in the glamour and dirt of it all, as we move one step closer to world domination.
This city belongs to us.

CBGB's and ME!!!
You are hereby publicly forewarned...I will be singing my infamous "My Heart Belongs to Daddy" number at CBGB's this Saturday night!
Yes, THAT CBGB's! The last hold out of punk rock history in New York City. Iggy Pop and the Stooges, The Ramones, and now me.
My little punk rock heart is all a-flutter! Plus...jaw dropping pin up photography and vintage hotrods...and did I mention the broads?
If you miss this, you will regret it for the rest of your life.
So there.

Help is on the Way...

As I promised you, 10% of all of the Danger Dame purchases for the month of September (and also part of October), I recently donated to the relief for Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. It took me awhile to figure out which charity to give to, and I am proud to let you all know that I decided to donate to the Humane Society of the United States, who have done an amazing job helping rescue animals in New Orleans and reunite them with their owners.
I decided on donating to the Humane Society because my world has been made so much better by the loving animal companions I've had in my lifetime. Afterall, I took my first steps as an infant holding onto my beloved childhood dog, Sneaky, and my first words were "Woof, woof, Sneaky."
So in memory of Sneaky, Kaiser and my darling Greta and in honor of my new little dog baby, Miette, I was very proud to donate to the cause for animals. The donation will help animals hurt during Hurricane Katrina who were abandoned, starving and in bad shape. I would like to sincerely thank everyone who purchased from my store, Danger Dame over the past month and 1/2. Your purchase helped go towards helping these animal friends of ours, and I couldn't have given such a big contribution without you.
THANK YOU!
This letter below is to all of you as well! Just wanted to share....
Dear Veronica of Danger Dame,
Thank you so much for your donation to the Disaster Relief
Fund of The Humane Society of the United States. Thanks to
you, our disaster teams and rescue vehicles will remain in
the hardest hit areas affected by Hurricane Katrina. We'll
continue to work nonstop to rescue animals and assist their
caregivers, and are preparing to respond to Hurricane Rita,
too.
We're grateful for your support of this Fund, which helps
animals when they need it the most.
Sincerely,
Wayne Pacelle,
President & CEO
The Humane Society of the United States

Happy Birthday, Anna ♥!

Today is the birthday of my girl, Miss Anna....and this is one of my favorite pictures of her, drinking from her girl walking a cockroach mug and standing against orginial pulp fiction covers plastered over the walls.
Happy Birthday, my dearest! May this new year for you bring beautiful adventures (including taking roadtrips with me in the beloved Matchbox, nights drinking tequlia in a dive bar feeding the lonely jutebox, and running through Autumn leaves in the infamous graveyard of Sleepy Hollow - and SOON!)
Don't be surprised when I steal you off the streets of the city when you are least expecting it to kidnap you away from all this.
I love you.

Let's Start a Revolution...

Because you know I'm a superstitious kind of dame.
Because I can't tell you anything yet or I would have to throw you out of a car in the desert just for knowing.
Let me ask you a question and come on over here and whisper in my ear - Psst! (veronica at dangerdame dot com) ....
IF...you were to cast any indie film actor for the part of the leading actor role of Pocket in my film Revolver, who would you cast?
Keep in mind, they can't be major block buster stars. We need someone indie friendly (read: would sleep on my floor and eat mac and cheese with me and my gang to make this film. Okay. Not THAT in the gutter, but they wouldn't be getting a multi million dollar paycheck. So no Johnny Depp, although we all know how much he wants to sleep on my floor and enjoy the finest box of 99 cent mac and cheese I have ever baked.)
I'm thinking along the lines of maybe Matt Dillion, Billy Crudup, and yes, okay...Johnny Depp.
So your mission, my dearest ones...watch this trailer to my film. Rack your scheming world dominating brains and lemme know who you would cast as Pocket.
Then we will cross our fingers together as wheels get set into motion next week.
Kisses in advance for your help.
Love and Danger...
