The Dance of Jim Beam
The filming for Rob Neilson's film noir, "The Dance of Jim Beam"
On location at the finest motel in the pit of hell, the Lincoln Tunnel Motel...

Such a classy joint...

But where were you expecting an alcoholic, recluse, brilliant writer to be hiding out...?

Somewhere along the way, fingers were lost...

Poloroids with ruby lipstick prints were sent...

...some girl attacked/made out with the bellboy (because well, isn't that what they're for?)...

The tormented writer was strangled... (yes, that is a rope burn on his neck..and yes, I did it.)

And at random moments when I snapped my fingers, this gorgeous German bombshell would come over and light my long stemmed cigarette.

Definitely my kind of film.
The dark forces behind the scenes...

My friend Chris, Rob (my male doppleganger), sweetest Lacey, and CJ!

The film is in the editing stages right now, and I will let you know the second it gets out there. Because well, you need to see it. If you know what's good for you...

Art Show-Philly-Be There!

So the other day, I came home soaked to the bone by a furious rainstorm that hit the city. Not the average rainstorm mind you...the kind of rainstorm that hits you sideways and washes all your sins into the gutter forever. So I'm drenched and freezing and absolved with goosebumps all over my skin when I check the mail. And there is a disk of images from photographer extrodinaire James Groves
One, I can't even tell you how happy I am with the results...I will share more photos with you over the next week from the shoot. Jim was absolutely a gentleman, very professional and made me feel like we've been hanging out together for years. Hell, he's the person I was with when I saw the Hollywood sign for the first time - so I guess that makes us friends forever.
...and he actually still likes me after I nearly killed the two of us pointing it out while he was driving...but we won't go into that story...
*whistles* If you wanna check out more of Jim Groves' photography work and you are near the Philadelphia area...head on over to his exhibit, in fact...HEY, WHAT ARE YOU DOING TONIGHT??!!
He will be displaying lots of his gorgeous photos, and I'm super flattered that he picked a photo of me. The show is a preview of the photography book "Good Luck In Hell" that he collaborated on with several other very talented photographers.
And guess what???
It's happening tonight and tomorrow night!
Starting at 7pm both nights:
Philomathean Art Gallery
University of Pennsylvania
College Hall, 4th Floor
34th & Locust Walk, 19104
Philadelphia, PA
So stop readin' this post, steal a car, grab your honey, and head on down!

My Darling Mercurial...

The other night I woke up from a dream at 5am.
In the dream, my Grandmother who I was very close with and who died when I was 12, had sent me a letter. When I opened it, there was a single sentence in gorgeous black flowing cursive. It read:
"Always remember...you are my darling mercurial."
I knew the second I saw her writing that it was VERY important that I hold onto that sentence.
Then my Big Bird alarm clock went off in the dream (that I haven't heard since I was about seven)...it said, "Time to wake up. Put one foot out of bed, now the other...have a good day."
Then suddenly I'm wide awake...staring at the ceiling.
"My darling mercurial", I scrawled in the dark into my journal.
For some reason, the word "mercurial" has alluded me my entire life and I was certain it was a made up weird dream word. I stared at the ceiling thinking of all the definitions I could make up for it.
I went to my proofreading gig two hours later and told the dream to my friend, Connie, who assured me it was in fact a word. She said it's used as a adjective, as in, "a mercurial rise to the top". She said it was my Grandma saying to get ready for everything to start happening with Revolver...and fast.
I really liked that thought.
Webster's says: mercurial: having qualities of eloquence, ingenuity, or thievishness attributed to the god Mercury or to the influence of the planet Mercury
or characterized by rapid and unpredictable changeableness of mood
Who me?

It had to start some time.
What better place than here?
What better time than now..."
