The Hidden Sister

photo.jpg

On Saturday, during a rainy and cold day, tucked away in a secret location nestled along cobblestone streets in Manhattan, we did the shoot for Zina Brown's short film, The Hidden Sister. I put on the false eyelashes, got the black kohl rimmed on my eyes and did an old gypsy spell on camera to be immortalized for all time. There was a ball of solid ice, there was fire, there was raven feathers from far off places, there was magic twigs and bark from a special tree, and then there was just the gleaming.... The wind and the rain creaked the building and the sound of Kai Altair's new song "Shine" played as I moved my arms to the sky, golden bracelets stacked one upon another. Magic was in the air.

Things that I learned during the seven hour shoot.....my little dog, Niney, really wants to be a movie star, or maybe she could just feel all the magic her gypsy mama was brewing up and she wanted to be near it. At one point, she was cuddled next to my leg underneath layers of black cloak just to be by my side. We made sure to save the very last shot of the day for her! I held her in my arms and we leaned over the magic table and she was very interested. She is my lovely Familiar.....that is for sure.

Kai took a bunch of amazing pictures behind the scenes on the set which she posted up here. I chose to share this one with all of you because I'm in the middle of one of my spells - being all serious and on either side of me are the butts of two of the things I love the most - Burke butt on the left, Niney butt on the right. Yep. Awesome.

Stay posted for all film release deets! xoxoxoxo
