1/2 a Tank of Gas and a Hula Girl

Just enough to get the hell out of dodge....

It's off to the middle of nowhere, but first...

the hula girl dances lively in the face of death. "Ha, ha, Death," she laughs. "I defy you."

There is something about the road that makes me want to rob banks. It makes me want to throw everything I own in my old trunk and just drive forever.

Driving forever...and robbing banks. Who's in?

It was only a matter of time....

put your hands to the sky, get down on the ground...and don't anybody move...

The road makes me daydream. Especially when I'm in the passenger seat...boots kicked on the dash, singing along to the radio, watching all the signs and things that pass. We stop at a roadside diner and I meet Harvey...

I heard his laugh across the diner. He was reading an article outloud that he enjoyed. So he ripped it out. Grabbed his tape and smacked it up on the divider between booths. Only his booth had all this decoration. The rest of the diner was just plain.

The waitress told me that he's been coming there for years, everyday. Sometimes twice a day. That's his booth. I had to talk to him. He was really really cool. He made me write my name down on a piece of paper so he wouldn't forget me. I wrote underneath it: I ♥ Harvey" with hearts around it. He laughed, then he taped it up on his wall. I told him I wanted to take his picture to put in my journal on the internet. He was really excited about that. He doesn't have the internet, so he'll never see it. But he knows it's going up...So here he is, World.
Harvey's internet debut....

By the time we get upstate to lil' ol' Oliveria, it's late. Well, okay. It's not late. It's like six at night. But it's been dark for hours.

I hate daylight savings.

I ♥ waking up at two in the morning to catch the first snowfall of the year....

I wake up ready for adventuring. I'm like a little kid in the woods. I'm a city girl...so everything in the woods is really cool to me.

This is the trailbridge higher up on a mountain trail. I would love to tell you I conquered the mountain trail. I really would.
I CONQUERED THE MOUNTAIN TRAIL (um...the bottom half).

Okay, so I was sick and in high heeled boots. Not the most practical of girls. I'll give you that.

Sorry if I've destroyed your rugged image of me. **wink**

Rewind to these woods a year ago...with the only thing that could have made it better than it was...

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ forever and ever - My Little Gret

Exactly a year ago, right when that picture of Gret was taken, I took off her leash and collar so she could run around all over. She never really needed a leash or collar anyway. I put it on the ground and it got covered in leaves. We couldn't find it, so we ditched it. So her collar is up there somewhere in the woods still.

That makes me happy.

I love being in this place again. Where there is miles and miles of just nature and not much else.

To just close my eyes and listen to the birds.

To be able to hear the sound that the wind makes.

It's nice to leave the world behind sometimes. For a few days. I got so much writing done, things that I've been trying to work on. Burke got a lot of writing done, too...he came up with a great new film idea for our little group. It was a good chance to scheme about getting Revolver out there (which by the way, if you haven't downloaded the trailer...you need to seriously stop what the hell you're doing and go here - then email me and join us.)

You don't wanna miss out, do you? Get over here and let the freaks love you.

The road is screaming my name again already...Listen for my beep outside.
